PLI Awarded KC-135 Full Rate Production Task Order

Phoenix Logistics, Inc. (PLI) has been awarded a Full Rate Production (FRP) Task Order for fabrication and delivery of the KC-135 Block 45 Global Air Traffic Management (GATM) Upgrade A-Kits. The Task Order is part of the KC-135 Block 45 Upgrade multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) prime contract won by PLI in 2015. Having successfully performed an initial build and Physical Configuration Audit (PCA) of five Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) units earlier this year, PLI was allowed to compete for FRP Task Orders under a Fair Opportunity Notification issued by the US Air Force.

PLI’s President and CEO, Mr. Al Funderburk stated, “Winning the Full Rate Production Task Order for the KC-135 Block 45 Upgrade aligns with our strategy to provide even greater value-added offerings within our aerospace manufacturing division. We are also pleased to continue our support to the Air Force LCMC at Oklahoma City and Tinker AFB as a prime contractor.”

PLI will be responsible for providing procurement and final fabrication of the various componentry and systems required within the KC-135 Block 45 Upgrade A-Kit. This includes sheet metal break-out panels, lighting panels, rack and panel mounting systems and complex wiring harnesses. The program will be managed by PLI’s Aerospace Manufacturing Division in Mesa, AZ and will continue through the summer of 2017. Follow on task orders are anticipated through 2025.
