PLI Hosts Customer Quality Assessments for Boeing, Lockheed and Northrop Grumman

Phoenix Logistics provides manufacturing and engineering services directly to the world’s largest prime aerospace and defense contractors. We work closely with our customers at all phases of projects and provide a high level of transparency into our processes and quality system. In 2013 we had the opportunity to host three of our prime customers for Assessments:

  • Boeing Manufacturing Planning Assessment
  • Lockheed PSP Assessment
  • Northrop Grumman Manufacturing and Counterfeit Prevention Assessments

Our fully integrated ERP system — Plex — helps streamline the assessment process. Quality and other data can be easily accessed in real-time during a product build or during an assessment. This ease of access has been one of the elements that has helped us to improve our process compliance rating from 91% to 98%.

Each of our customers reviewed Risk Management during their assessments. In 2012 PLI implemented a Risk Management Framework following ISO 31000:2009 Risk Management Guidelines. We walked our customers through the process of a PLI Integrated Product Team (IPT) utilizing different tools to identify, analyze, evaluate, treat, and document risks from Quote Request to Shipping – including sub-tier supplier evaluation. We discussed the importance of open lines of communication between PLI and the customer to promptly identify risks during any stage of the product’s life cycle.

We welcome Customers any time for an inside look into our processes. We recognize Customer Assessments are a valuable feedback tool to maintaining and improving a robust AS9100 Quality Management System.

We thank our Customers for taking the time to visit PLI. The Customer Feedback provided in these assessments is used to improve and refine our Quality Management System (QMS). We use customer input to tailor our system to meet individual Customer product, process and documentation requirements.
