PLI Completes Final Delivery for IO&T of Country’s Largest Medical Simulation Facility

Phoenix Logistics, Inc. (PLI) is pleased to announce completion and final delivery of the Initial Outfitting & Transition (IO&T) of the largest Medical Simulation Facility in the United States. PLI was awarded the multi-million dollar Prime Contract by Army Contracting Command (ACC) Orlando, to conduct IO&T of The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) National Simulation Center (NSC) Simulation Learning and Research Network (SimLEARN) at Lake Nona, Florida in September 2015. The52,000 square foot NSC SimLEARN is part of the VHA’s ever-growing body of facilities, curricula and best practices designed to improve the health care for the nation’s Veterans. PLI is proud to play a role in supporting this vital effort for our veterans.

In the process of completing the IO&T project PLI worked closely with the VHA to systematically deliver program management, configuration management, supply chain management, site management and staffing for the procurement, delivery, assembly and installation of all furniture, furnishings, facilities and medical equipment including live and virtual training devices for individual, collective and team training in every aspect of health care delivery training scenarios from initial patient reception thru complex surgical operations and follow on care.
PLI’s Orlando Operations Manager, Greg Williamitis, stated “this was an exceptionally rewarding program to execute since we were working closely with the VHA NSC SimLEARN leadership and we came in contact with some of our Nations Veterans on a daily basis at the Lake Nona VA Hospital. Since most of our staff executing the project served in the armed forces, we felt a special connection and that our efforts would have a direct impact on training throughout the VHA”.

PLI is currently in the process of executing follow-on contracts for delivery of additional Surgical Training Devices and just recently completed delivery of all the Consumable Medical Supplies required to support the 2017 training schedule. These successful contract completions are a testament to PLI’s mission and customer focus and in keeping with the strategic vision of the company as PLI expands our Critical Infrastructure Business Offerings and experience.
